Jeannie Savage of Details Details is well known for her meticulous planning and passion for perfection. After all, she started one of the most successful planning and design houses in Orange County, CA and has been creating beautiful and extravagant weddings for over twenty years. She’s a wealth of knowledge (to say the least), a fashionista in her own right, and she’s dropping a little of both with us today with her bridesmaid Dos and Don’ts and some of her favorite bridesmaid dress makers.

Bridesmaids Don’ts

– Don’t be late getting into the makeup chair
– Don’t drink a bottle of champagne before going down the aisle
– Don’t wear random jewelry, even though it might have some meaning to you
– Don’t wear red nail polish or any ultra bright colors unless the Bride requested

Bridesmaids Dos

– Do help the bride hold her train
– Do hold the Bride’s bouquet
– Do eat during the day but avoid salads from ruining the makeup
– Do bring your dress steamed, don’t expect the bride to handle it
– Do have fun!

Jeannie’s Favorite Bridesmaid Designers

Birdy Grey
I think this is the most versatile BM dress line, with plus size, maternity, jr bridesmaids and they sell PJ sets too.  They encourage mix + match by offering dresses in different styles of the same material to allow BM to select on that is better suited for their body type.  They also start at $99 for a dress.

Revelry
What make them unique is the try on before buy program. You orders samples and swatches sent to you home for only $10 a dress. Ship back free with enclosed FedEx return label. Plus they also carry velvet and sequins.

Jenny Yoo
I didn’t put it these order of favorites, but I’d say I’ve been a fan of Jenny Yoo since I started my career. I think from day one – they designed gowns that were flattering. The materials, especially the chiffon, are not scratchy and the lining makes the dresses feel as high quality as they are. The colors shown on website are true to color. I even purchased one to wear as a guest to a wedding. They also have two locations, one in Chicago and one in NY and can also be found at authorized retailers Bella Bridesmaids and Anthropologie.

Davids Bridal
This is one of the few bridesmaid dress store fronts around. Online shopping is very convenient for most but some really prefer to try it on in the store and also go with some of their besties. Those are memories created cannot be compared to clicking to buy.

The Dessy Group
They offer a unique line called Cynthia & Sahar of bold, curve hugging dresses and gowns for women of all shapes and size. They also sell sample swatches, you can get three free swatches (you pay for shipping) or you can purchase a full satin twill swatch palette of 24 colors for $12.
