An Honest Review of Drift Hotel Palm Springs

Drift Hotel Palm Springs

You know when sometimes you just feel like you’ve hit the wall of life? I know the feeling all too well. You can see where I’m headed, right? I needed a mental break so I wanted to book a little R&R. When you live in Southern California, Palm Springs THE go-to for a mental escape. It’s just about a two hour drive from LA, OC and SD and the weather is typically amazing. Enter Drift Hotel Palm Springs.

Drift Hotel Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a regular stop for me personally so I wanted to stay somewhere new. Google led me to Drift Hotel Palm Springs and I decided to give it a try. My GF was flying in and we’re were staying three nights so I wanted to stay somewhere that gave us each some space to decompress and not be on top of each other the whole time.

Four Bd/3Ba Suites Available

Drift has 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom suites. The large suites have up to three full ensuite bathrooms. . Since we were there for R&R and there were only two of us, we chose a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite. I feel like having your own bathroom is a game changer when traveling so we were all in especially since it also had a well equipped kitchenette (stocked with snacks and drinks), a large living room with a full length mirror and a big patio with a hammock. Honestly, I felt like this situation was too good to be true so I called to confirm that it was actually the case. It was. This could not be a more perfect setup for a bachelorette weekend getaway since the larger suites would comfortably hold eight people.

Contactless Check In

Check in in contactless, the day before check in, you get a link to get you access to the property. Enter your info and they next day when your room is ready, you’re sent your access code that gets you into your room and the pool. It was super easy and just nice to be able to to straight to your suite.

The bar and restaurant, MALEZA, is rustic Mexican eatery that’s serving up some seriously amazing food, craft cocktails and a surprisingly good wine list. MALEZA has an indoor/outdoor bar, indoors that have plenty of comfy booths and tables, a fireplace with surrounding seating and there’s more gathering space outdoors along with a fire pit. They even have happy hour – was not expecting that here. The bartenders were super welcoming and friendly – we may have had a few drinks and snacks there.

What I Didn’t Like

I said this was going to be an honest review and it has been, but I might as well tell you what I didn’t love. The mirrors in the bathroom have a speckle effect to them so it’s hard to really see yourself and you may jack up your mascara and have to wash one eye and reapply. True story. Bring a mirror to put on your makeup or you can use the huge full length mirror in the living room, but that might be hard if a bunch of people are trying to get ready. They don’t have a jacuzzi, which is not a big deal if you’re visiting June – October, but it would be so nice during the colder months. If you’re a light sleeper and are on the bottom floor, bring some noise canceling headphones. You can hear your neighbors’ above every move and even the argument they were having. I really hope they worked it out and had a nice time together. These are all super minor and didn’t affect our stay at all.
